Titan Florida LLC has an immediate opening for a Technical Services Manager in the Aggregates Division of the Titan America Pennsuco Plant in Medley, Florida. This salary, exempt position, will report directly to the Aggregates Plant Manager. The primary function of this position is to provide effective direction and leadership to the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Department, while ensuring the performance and safeguarding of the facility’s assets. The mindset of the candidate rotates around the optimization of equipment reliability, productivity, utilization of system capabilities, implementation of process improvements, reduction and control of plant costs, capital project planning, and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as safety champion to promote safe behavior within the maintenance department.
  • Accountable for the effective supervision of all plant maintenance functions.
  • Effectively manage the training and development of skills, knowledge and abilities within the maintenance department.
  • Efficiently manage the maintenance department’s budget, while focusing on optimization and reduction of plant costs.
  • Lead engineering and execution of capital improvement projects including structural rehabilitation, mechanical upgrades, electrical improvements, and plant modernization.
  • Oversee mobile equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, contractor performance, and major shutdown planning.
  • Provide project management directions to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting of technical problems for company operating assets and provide direction as required.
  • Review overall maintenance results for compliance abiding by safety and industry standards and specifications.
  • Advise supervisors of labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, etc.
  • Continually inspect and evaluate electrical and mechanical components of the facility and equipment for effectiveness.
  • Develop long-term operational excellence strategies that improve equipment up time, reduce maintenance costs, and extend asset life.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related engineering fields) is required. Master’s degree in engineering or business administration is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of management experience working in manufacturing, industrial electrical or mechanical setting required (mining experience preferred).
  • Experience with an industrial electrical setting which includes high voltage power distribution, transformers, motor control equipment, small to large motors and large generators, low voltage automation and controls, PLC, ladder logic and system control software.
  • Must have excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Must exhibit professional ability to deal with others and to create constructive working relationships and an overall positive working environment.
  • Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Project management skills and knowledge of basic financial analysis required.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, assist in the resolution of technical problems, and manage ambiguous information effectively.
