Titan America has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Foreman at its facility in Richmond, VA.  This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance and coordination of maintenance activities on the mixer trucks, concrete plant equipment, and/or facilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a Safety First mentality and actively participates in the safety program; Facilitates/leads monthly safety meetings
  • Effectively updates, implements and optimizes plant and/or fleet preventive maintenance programs
  • Accountable for the effective day to day supervision of all maintenance functions
  • Meet daily maintenance schedules, document system performance, identify and analyze problem area breakdown trends
  • Handles emergency maintenance coordination calls during on and off-duty hours
  • Supplements and assists in all maintenance activities as required, serves as a working supervisor
  • Oversees the troubleshooting of technical problems and equipment malfunctions providing direction as required
  • Effectively manages the training and development of skills, knowledge, and abilities within the department
  • Leads, teaches, mentors, and manages maintenance team and work processes to establish and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Drives maintenance schedule and tracks maintenance program performance versus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); maintains equipment availability required to meet or exceed established key performance indicators
  • Provides project management direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Makes improvements to processes to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Reviews overall maintenance results for compliance within safety and industry standards and specifications
  • Provides direction to facilitate new truck specification as well as defining scope of refurbishment initiatives
  • Ensures regulatory and environmental compliance with regard to all equipment, personal and facilities
  • Effectively communicates maintenance status to enhance overall company operating efficiencies
  • Maintains clean, organized, and hazard free shop environment
  • Oversees store room (parts) activities to ensure inventory control compliance with internal audit requirements
  • Directs daily work order assignments based on priority utilizing daily pre/post trip data
  • Ensures repair and maintenance work is conducted with fiscal prudence obtaining proper approvals when costs fall outside established guidelines

Qualifications

Qualifications and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience maintaining equipment in an industrial or commercial setting, preferred in a ready mix concrete environment
  • Multi-skilled professional mechanic with experience in repair and maintenance of machinery, both electronic and mechanical, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulics and pneumatics and other plant equipment related to our concrete plant facilities
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fundamental computer experience is required
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, assist in the resolution of technical problems, and manage ambiguous information effectively
  • Position requires travel

  • Must be a team player
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Physical job requirements include working outdoors with exposure to heat and cold, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 50 lbs
