Maintenance Technician

 

Titan Florida, LLC has an opening for a Maintenance Technician for its Estero, FL aggregates plant.  This wage non-exempt position will report to the and site Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required safety checks and follow all safety rules and regulations. (Titan & MSHA)
  • While plant is running, ensure there is no material contamination and inspect the plant for deficiencies as you work.
  • Perform welding, grinding, and cutting as required. Grease lubrication points throughout the plant on a regular basis and as directed.
  • Knowledge of hardware sizes, general mechanics, hand tools, power tools, and repair practices.
  • Assist supervision in complex repairs to the plant and other systems on site.
  • Have a general understanding of conveyors, crushers, screens, screws, and other aggregate processing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on fixed and mobile equipment (water truck, forklift, manlift, etc.)
  • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis when problems arise. Communicate efficiently with the Lead and Manager.
  • Maintain records of work performed to assist in tracking equipment history.
  • Maintain exterior, interior shop and work area cleanliness.
  • Able to proficiently operate a forklift, manlift, water truck, and other service equipment as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and on-job training.
  • At least 1 year of experience in plant maintenance.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Ability to understand and follow the oral and written instructions sufficient to carry out repair orders and understand maintenance records and equipment specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and fractions for hardware.
  • Ability to maintain basic records for repair work done.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, MSHA regulations, and of related safety practices.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices used to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Ability to interpret service manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to task train other personnel and lead repair jobs.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally: and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently: and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

 

Shift:

Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
