Titan America is seeking a talented Fixed Assets Supervisor to join our team in Norfolk, VA!

 

The Supervisor of Fixed Assets is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of an organization's tangible and intangible long-term assets, such as property, equipment, vehicles, and buildings. The goal is to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, optimal asset utilization, and cost-effective management. The Supervisor of Fixed Assets plays a critical role in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making by providing reliable data on asset values, depreciation, and performance. The role reports to the Director of Management Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acquisition, tracking, depreciation, maintenance, transfer, and disposal of fixed assets. This includes verifying asset existence through physical inventories and updating records for additions, retirements, or disposals.
  • Maintain and optimize fixed asset management system (e.g. SAP S/4 Hana). Ensure data accuracy, implement controls, and conduct periodic audits to reconcile subledgers with the general ledger.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation projects to streamline property, plant, and equipment, leases, and intangible assets and reporting cycles.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely recording of all intangible assets.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other departments for cross-functional alignment.
  • Assist in integration efforts for acquisitions.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field; CMA, CPA, MBA, master’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent education is a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant business experience in finance and accounting; preferably in a public company setting and in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of a broad range of business processes and concepts; experience with sales and operations planning, site or business unit controlling, sales funnel and pipeline
  • Critical thinker who is willing to go above and beyond to provide business insights
  • Self-starter with a high internal, competitive drive to succeed and be the best
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Keen ability to handle ambiguity and add the right amount structure where necessary
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Willingness to do what it takes to achieve the goal including working extended hours or weekends as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technology and organization skills, including experience with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office with a high proficiency in Excel

 

Working Requirements

The Supervisor of Fixed Assets will be in an office environment with occasional travel. The role is in person at the Norfolk Office.
