Titan America has an opening for a Senior Accountant at the corporate office in Deerfield Beach, FL.  This salary position will be reporting to the Accounting Director.  The Senior Accountant will support day-to-day general ledger maintenance, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, and fluctuation analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules for accurate GL recording; promptly identify and resolve reconciling items.
  • Prepare journal entries across multiple areas, including cash, accounts payable, accrued expenses, payroll, accounts receivable, debt and amortization, fixed assets, and prepaid accounts.
  • Generate monthly management reports and respond to ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Analyze monthly P&L statements, provide commentary on significant variances, and conduct quarterly fluctuation analyses.
  • Take the lead on special projects within the accounting, financial reporting and SOX compliance functions.
  • Lead initiatives to implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls, optimize financial reporting, and ensure robust SOX compliance.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting and cash application staff, delegating tasks and reviewing work for accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public company environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Hyperion and SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and/or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and resolve ambiguous information effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
