Overview

Titan America is currently seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our Roanoke Cement Plant team located in Troutville, Virginia. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all bulk and packhouse shipping operations at the cement plant. This includes managing the loading of bulk cement, bagging operations, truck and rail logistics, inventory tracking, and ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused dispatching. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and coordination skills in a dynamic, fast-paced industrial environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all daily shipping operations for both bulk and packaged cement. 
  • Ensure the accurate and timely loading of trucks and railcars in accordance with customer orders and safety regulations. 
  • Oversee packhouse operations including bagging, palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and loading. 
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of finished product and packaging materials. 
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and transportation teams to meet shipping schedules and priorities. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures. 

 

  • Investigate and resolve shipping delays, equipment issues, or loading discrepancies. 
  • Maintain and report accurate records of shipping volumes, inventory movements, and load quality. 
  • Lead and develop a team of loaders, forklift drivers, and packaging personnel; conduct performance evaluations and ensure ongoing training. 
  • Recommend improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency within the shipping and logistics functions. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in logistics, operations, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in industrial shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations; experience in the cement or building materials industry strongly preferred. 
  • Strong working knowledge of shipping practices, inventory control, and packaging processes. 
  • Experience with truck, rail, and bulk loading equipment. 
  • Proficient in computer systems and shipping/inventory software (SAP or similar). 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work weekends and respond to after-hours issues as needed.
