Overview

Titan Florida, Inc. has an exciting part-time opportunity for an Electrical Engineering student at our Pennsuco Aggregates Operation in Medley, Florida. The Pennsuco Aggregates Team supplies material using a combination of electrical and mechanical mining equipment to perform functions such as digging, loading, hauling, crushing, and conveying. The same plant produces and distributes over 5 million tons of finished and unfinished material throughout Florida.

 

This wage position will be assigned to the Aggregates Maintenance Department and will report directly to the Aggregates Maintenance Manager.  The Electrical Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and execution of asset management strategies and various improvement initiatives.    

Responsibilities

  • Assist Aggregates Planner and Aggregates Electrical Supervisor with planning and scheduling of electrical maintenance.
  • Audit electrical maintenance system and generate KPI’s for electrical maintenance.
  • Facilitate and perform root cause analyses with team in order to prevent future failures.
  • Generate annual schedule of electrical inspections and audits to ensure we meet electrical compliance.
  • Download and analyze historical information from systems to identify trends of opportunity.
  • Assist electrical engineering with Capital projects; bid documents, develop specifications.
  • Gather, organize and digitize equipment files to provide access to all members of the team.
  • Update electrical as-built drawings as work is performed to ensure up to date information is available.

Qualifications

Student learning outcomes:

  • Work with an asset management system to learn the set up and execution process of a CMMS system.
  • Exposure to SAP, DataStream and a company created program called GSMMS (Group Standard Maintenance Management System)
  • Experience working/writing and creating Standard Operating Procedures and working with maintenance teams on preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Develop a working knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, NFPA, and NEC regulatory requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate or actively pursuing a degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with shop personnel, vendors, OEM suppliers, and management
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment skills; highly motivated to achieve goals and deliver results
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; self-directing and goal-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); AutoCAD proficiency preferred
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting vendor manuals and engineering drawings; capable of performing cost analysis and working within structured budgets
  • Able to write detailed technical reports and documentation
  • Committed to safety, teamwork, and strong organizational, planning, and execution abilities
